3 Coupon Inserts This Weekend!

Hello Friends! I just wanted to sign off until next week... I'm off to visit a few friends in AZ and leaving my sweet family home to fend for themselves! I love you guys! So, no posting will probably be done from here unless I get access while away! Have fun and talk to you soon!

This Weekend: Hey all, this weekend is a GREAT weekend to get a few extra Sunday papers! There should be THREE inserts this weekend, the Smart Source, Red Plum (Valassis) and Proctor and Gamble. Check through your paper before you buy (if you can) and make sure ALL 3 inserts are in it! If you have to buy from a box dispenser, just check the first one before buying any others. Sometimes it is just safer to buy from a store and pay the tax then get ripped off at the box stand if you spend the money and no coupons are inside!!! Have a GREAT WEEKEND!!!

Warmly,
Tracey C.

FREE Kids Project at Home Depot Saturday, May 2!!

This Saturday they are building a wooden Wheel Barrow. Just stop by anytime between 9 and noon and build one. No need to sign up, but if you go very late, remember they may run out of materials or aprons! Your child will get an apron and completion pin.

These are great hands-on activities for kids to give them confidence and basic skills with tools and their hands. Great way to spend time with them and they get such a sense of accomplishment! Plus, later you can spend time painting/decorating the projects to personalize them further! We loved this workshop and I hope we make it to this one!

Thanks to Amy at Who Said Nothing In Life is Free????... for the reminder!!

Publix Trip and how to maximize your savings!

Hello friends! Bought just a couple of things at Publix a couple of days ago, but wanted to share one of my shopping strategies for lowering my shopping trip costs. Here are a couple of things to remember about Publix:
  1. They take competitor coupons as well as manufacturer and internet coupons. (at mine)
  2. The store has excellent produce, is very clean, and well stocked for sales & otherwise!
  3. If an item rings up for wrong price, you get that item (only 1 per incident!) FREE!
  4. Employees (in my experience at all 6 of our local Publix) are very friendly!
Now, a local Walgreens just opened. This means there was a $3 off $10 purchase coupon in the ad, good only at the NEW Wags. However, Publix takes competitor coupons. I only needed to have a total of $10 in products BEFORE coupons to take advantage of this savings!

**NOTE:I also like to purchase a rebate item for times like this. It gets my total higher to take advantage of a coupon.. like a $5 off $50 or something similar, then I get that money back. If I need to get to $10 to use my Wags $3/$10 coupon, I can add an item that I can mail in for a rebate..it counts toward my "total" but I get that amount back later! Also, use a coupon whenever possible with a mail in rebate to possibly earn more money or cover postage.

There are several rebates I need to do before the months end. The Reynolds recycled foil try me free (I printed this on Earth Day from their website) and it must be done by May 4. The Sargentos TMF salad toppers/potato finishers rebate AND coupon from the S 3/15 insert (look for blinkie coupons also at Publix and other stores) and the Kelloggs All Bran 10 day promise rebate printed online. You should be able to find the Kelloggs one by doing a google (or swagbucks to earn bucks!) search. The Sargentos was printed in the insert and you have a couple days left to do it. Just remember to only buy ONE mail in rebate item per transaction.. because you have to send in the receipt!

So, I purchased the Reynolds for $2.99. I used a $1/1 any reynolds coupon from S 3/15 insert. My total towards my $10 was now $2.99 (before coupons). I added a knox gelatin product for $1.39 (had a coupon good for $4/1 from RP 3/15 insert, no overage this time, but good toward my total). Total $4.38. Purchased Almond Breeze milk 1/2 gallon for $2.50, used $.75/1 coupon, up to $6.88. Purchased TWO Juicy Juice immunity and brain New juices for 2/$4 and used two $1/1 coupons. Total now $10.88 and I can stop. But not sure if I can get overage for my knox coupon.. so I keep going, but I could have stopped here. I found McCormick extract on clearance table last time for $.99 and remembered to bring my $1/1 coupon from RP 3/15 insert. total to $11.87. Added a bag of whole wheat pitas to the mix for $1.29..total is now $13.16. Last minute I added 3 papers for $1.50 each (needed more coupons and no time to shop the newspaper boxes, it was evening). Sigh! So, my total is now $17.66.

$17.66 Minus $3/$10 Wags coupon
-3.00
--------
$14.66 Minus $2 in juicy juice coupons
-2.00
--------
$12.66 Minus McCormick completely because it rang up wrong and I got it FREE!
-.99 No coupon needed after all!
---------
$11.67 Minus $.75/1 almond milk coupon
-.75
---------
$10.92 Minus $1.39 knox coupon
-1.39
---------
$9.53 Minus $1.00 Reynolds coupon
-1.00
---------
$8.53 Plus tax
+ .51
--------
total is $9.04 OOP (0ut of pocket)

Will get back $2.99 from rebate
= $6.05 for a savings of $13.90 off my purchased items!

FREE: Reynolds (after rebate), Knox gelatin, McCormick extract. Only $6 final cost for the other 7 items. Pretty good huh?

Of course, to be REALLY smart, I would plan better, I would have stopped adding items after the juicy juice. My total would have been $10.88 plus tax minus $8.14 in coupons ($3 wags, $1.39 knox, $.75 almond milk, $2 juicy juice, $1 reynolds) and my total would have been a scant $2.74 plus tax!!! I then could have added the other things, plus a couple more items to $10 and used another $3/$10 Wags. A good way to get your produce cheaper too!

I Hope this example inspires you to think outside the box and combine your resources to lower your bills!

Happy Shopping friends!
Warmly, Tracey C.

Pics of my Freebies, Cheapies and Clearance Items!

Hey all! I wanted to post some pics of some of my shopping trips since I have been so horrible about posting my shopping and my totals. This way you can get an idea of what I have been scrambling around doing the past few weeks! Enjoy!

The photo above shows some of the great items I got for free, some with a profit at Walgreens. For every 6 Unilever products, a $6 catalina coupon would print out at the register. I had several $1/1 dove coupons and many $1/2 degree coupons. The trial size deodorants ran $.99, so if I bought six and got $1-$3 off, I made a profit each time! The sunsilk I did not have coupons for, but they were on clearance for $1.09. So these were only $.09 each. The Axe body sprays deal was buy 2 get $3 RR. These in the pic were on clearance for $1.39..so a profit again! Yay!

These folders were a great buy for me! The huge Trapper binders are normally a ridiculous $20 or so each. Sure they have pocket folders, dividers and pockets and calcs inside, but come on! The big 'uns were on sale for $5 and the single view binders were $1. Great deal. Saving for next school year. The padded envies were on sale 3/$1 but rang up $.24 each!

Here we have more catalina deals at Walgreens. The Scunci were $2 and you get $2 Cat back, so free. The Reach were on clearance $1 and I had $1 coupons so free. The colgate max fresh toothbrushes were $3.29 and printed a $3.50 RR for each one (in seperate transactions), so a profit plus because I had $.75/1 coupons. The edge shaving gel $2.99 and generated a $3 RR. Chapstick $1.99, $2 RR. I used the Scunci RR to roll the Chapstick..but had to add on something each time to cover the penny! (my store won't just take it). Free Free Free! I got gads of this stuff and have already given a bit away to family.

Great deal on the Sara Lee bread at one of my wags, only $.99 each! Wow! Also hit the .05 easter candy. Kid bribers. Or for me. I should have left them there!

Now, this pic above is one of my favorites! I walked into one of my Wags and there was a bin table full of junk! Almost everything was priced very low, but there were a ton of things for only $.10 each! How could I resist? I didn't! I added alot of things to my girls' treasure box. The scarves (for play), the butterfly hair clip, the erasers that smell like cherry (weird), the little candle light, cotton candy..glue dots. Also, bald head lube (for practical jokes!), camera batteries, toothbrush head replacements, tweezers, a funny big old strike match that is a butane lighter! 10 cents! All of it! Fun.
Hope you enjoyed viewing!

Kmart DOUBLES coupons... OK trip!

Hey friends! I CAVED and went ahead and clipped and sorted and headed out to the local Kmart for the DOUBLE COUPON event.

Last time I did this, it was not a good experience as the store said they weren't participating and I had to get with the manager etc. Then several coupons didn't double..so on. I think I haven't been back since then!

But this time the Double Coupon event was in our local ad.. so I dared to go. Rules, double up to and including $2 coupons, only 4 like items per transaction, only 40 (they changed it from 60) coupons per customer, per day, no overage, up to and including Sat., Apr. 25th. Let me say, I struggled to find coupons to USE! I went with a whole armload my first trip yesterday, but ended up with just a few freebies because Kmarts prices are so high, they don't carry many of the things, or they were totally wiped out! I did score a few goodies free: Oust spray, eggs (but only because I had a buy 2 Kellogg's get a dozen eggs free!), Kraft dressing, ummm...cat treats.. EAS nutrition bars...Olay 2 packs of soap... the rest were cheap items, like bandaids for $.19, Cereal for $.50, pringles for $.50, Whiskas 12 pack for $1.12, Tostitos salsa for $.75 (used one of my pepsi rebate coupons). I spent $14.XX. Sigh, I do better at Publix!

SO... today I went back, armed with a few more coupons and this is what I got:
  • 4 boxes Kellogg's cereal 4/$10.. had $1/1 coupons doubled to $2 each. $2 for all $4 ALSO I got the rebate form printed at register to mail in for a $5 Gift Card from Kmart. So the cereal is basically free! I also got cereal yesterday, but only one rebate per household.
  • 1 softsoap NEW fancy hand soap ensembles dispenser for $6.00!!! used $2/1 CVS magazine manufacturer coupon doubled to $4. Cost $2 (but I also got a rebate form to send in for buying the base and refill...so FREE after rebate!)
  • 1 softsoap NEW equally fancy refill bottle for $3.00!!! used $1/1 IP coupon so $1.00 (free after mail in rebate as mentioned above)
  • Dry Idea roll on deodorant $3.49 used $2/1 IP coupon (bricks?) FREE
  • 9 bottles Suave Naturals shampoo & conditioner 4/$5 ($1.25 ea) used 3 $1.75/3 q's from the 3/1 RP insert doubled to $3.50 ea X 3 = $10.50 off $11.25 = $.75 for all 9
  • Renu 4fl oz (full size but not huge) for hubby $3.49, used $1/1 IP from coupons.com = $1.49
  • 3 MeowMix wholesome entrees on sale $.70 ea.. used $1/3 q from RP 3/1 insert, doubled to $2 = $.10 for 3
  • 1 kraft catalina dressing on sale $2.67.. used $1.50/1 from SS 3/29 insert doubled to price.. = FREE (no overage on these)
That's IT! My tax was $1.55 my total after coupons was $8.87!! OOP = $8.87
HOWEVER! I will mail in for the cereal (using yesterdays cereal receipt) to get $5 Kmart GC AND I will mail in for the $4 softsoap rebate for buying the pump & refill. That is $9.00 back and minus my stamps...that is everything almost FREE!!!! I love when that happens!

NOTE: I found the soft soap displays ABOVE the shampoos! NOT with the hand soaps. They hadn't placed them out yet, and the rebate forms were on pads attached to the display piece. I just reached way up, pulled the entire display piece down (carefully!) and took what I needed! You may want to ask up at customer service if your store does not have the softsoap displays out.

NOTE 2: If you buy 4 of the kelloggs (pops, raisin bran, cocoa/rice krispies, fruit loops, apple jacks and chocovanilla krispies, corn flakes, smacks..the ones on sale) you SHOULD GET a rebate form PRINTED OUT at the register! It is not attached to your receipt, but looks just like a receipt! You must get this to mail in for your $5 Kmart gift card rebate! Don't leave without it! :)

I'll add my pics later.. enjoy!

New Look to Blog

Well, I thought I'd try this new look/format. It is wider on the page. Tell me what you think! Do you like the old blog look or this new one better? Thanks!

Free? Toothbrushes, Shaving Cream & Hair Bands @ Walgreens!

Walgreens has some pretty screamin' free deals with the sweet Catalina machine this week. Many items are free after you purchase because you get that amount back in a register reward (RR) coupon after you pay. You can use a RR you get for a toothbrush to pay for shaving gel or hairbands, thereby rolling your purchases, sort of. Just remember that you must purchase AT LEAST the amount on the RR, and you have to pay tax. Here's what I'm getting this week, and if you want more deals on Wags this week, please see iheartwags.com for amazing match ups and deals!
  1. Purchase the Colgate Max Fresh toothbrush $3.29, and get a $3.50 RR (thanks iheartwags.com HERE)colgate $1 coupon HERE, must sign up. Use this to get $1 off your Colgate Max Fresh toothbrush (also in the 3/29 SS insert for $.75/1) and make a PROFIT! You can do this deal multiple times, even without a coupon (to get it for free plus tax), just DON'T use the RR coupon to pay for the purchase, or a NEW RR coupon won't print out!
  2. Purchase the 18 count pack of scunci (the elastic hair bands in multiple colors, find these in the hair care isle) for $2 and get a $2 RR
  3. Skintimate Shave Gel $2.99 and get a $3 RR OR purchase the Edge Shave Gel in the infused/energy ONLY for $2.99 and get a $3 RR. You can pick one or the other, but can't buy both the Edge and Skintimate at the same time and get two RR. You cannot pay for Edge with the Skintimate RR, or the reverse, or a new one won't print out.
  4. Fiber Choice 10 ct. Tablets. $2.49 and get $2.49 Register Rewards
Here's one scenario for how you can do this. Buy: Skintimate Shave Gel $2.99
scunci 18 ct $2
colgate max fresh toothbrush $3.29

subtotal: $8.28

use this coupon:
-$1 Colgate Max Fresh
toothbrush (must sign up)

Total=$7.28 + tax (tax amounts vary)

You will then receive the following RR's:

$3 rr Skintimate Shave Gel or Edge infused/energy shaving gel (april rr)
$3.50 colgate max fresh/max white toothbrush (4/12-4/18)
$2 rr Scunci Elastics 18 pack (
4/12-4/18)

Example:
You can then use, for example, the $3 RR to buy the next colgate max toothbrush in a seperate transaction if you wish, add another $1 printable colgate coupon and any item over $.71 (total must exceed or meet the coupons value). Lots of Easter clearance, Big Roll toilet paper is 2 for $1, etc. You will pay tax, then you will get a NEW RR for $3.50. You can then use this to buy the shaving cream.... etc. Or, use the $2 RR and the $3.50 RR to get the $2.49 fiber choice and the $2.99 shaving cream... you will need to add a SMALL item, like one of the mailing envelopes for $.33 with in ad coupon, or a pencil.. your total before adding something will be $5.48 and your coupons = $5.50. You only need an additional $.02.... Just an example, your math may come up with some much better scenarios! Don't be shy, you can share them with us here in the comments!

ALSO! The coffee-mate is on sale
at Wags this week 2 for $3 ($1.50 each)... if you print out a $1.50 or $1.00 coupon at coffee-mate HERE, you can get it cheap or FREE! That's what I'm talking about!

I hope this helps you all find some great deals this week at Walgreens! A great time to stock up on toothbrushes for FREE for your family and shaving cream. Get enough so you don't have to buy any more this year! You can use the hair bands for yourself, or save as stocking stuffers! We use 100's of these a year! No, really. :) I'll be posting my results at the end of the week with some fun pictures! Happy Shopping!

Warmly, Tracey C.

Publix only $3!!! Great shopping trip!

I had a good time doing this shop at Publix before Easter for only $3.05!! Meant to take pic, sorry, use your imagination!! :) I don't have my receipt in front of me for price details, just know what my final was and which coupons I used. Have you had a great shop lately?

  • 2 cartons of Tropicana 50 Orange juice, on sale B1G1F....used 2 $1/1 coupons (was around $.80 ea after Q's)
  • Mission tortillas...used $1/1 coupon (was around $.60 after coupon)
  • 2 boxes Duncan Hines cake mix B1G1F...used one $.35/1 Q, only had one.
  • 1 Philly cream cheese tub (chive baby!) on sale $1.00
  • 1 bag Lenders WW bagels on sale $1.00
  • 2 boxes KNOX gelatin (about $1.39 ea) , Used 2 $4/1 any knox product, got overage!
  • 2 boxes Wheat Thins artisan crackers B1G1F....used 1 B1G1F Manufacturer Q (free!)
  • 1 6 pack of Fiber Plus yogurt $2.50 minus ...1 $1.00/1 Q
  • Total OOP was only $3.05!!!
Yay! I LOVE Publix! :) Of course, I had a $50+ shop also last week for almost ALL fresh produce (tons) and eggs and egg whites (expensive!...for protein smoothies). Even with over $20 in coupons, it was still that high! I could have gone a little here, a little there and done better with competitor coupons, but I needed everything then! Also, soy milk since I need to keep my little one off dairy for a while. It's a good thing I can do $3 shopping trips to fill in the gaps! Haven't shopped at CVS or Wags much..have to see what is going on this week at those great stores! Have a super week!

Warmly, Tracey C.

Take a look at these photo books.. a nice Mother's Day gift or Father's Day gift and both are coming up! These also make for a really fun "yearbook" experience for your kids in school. They can help design and choose the photos and it will cost you alot less than some of the yearbooks..and they can be in ALL the photos!

Or, why not make a church youth group summer book or spring break book, maybe a VBS book or scouting book for the kids in scouts. I love photo books and there are so many designs and ideas for making them! Great Gifts! Look around their site and see all the fun things you can make with your photos!
